We view the discovery phase as the starting point to all influencer marketing success. Using our in-house software solutions we’ll narrow the field and refine your options, but that’s only the beginning. If you were using a dating service, you wouldn’t just go meet a stranger for dinner because the software told you your match met your criteria. Knowing someone is a certain age, height, and weight, and likes the same movies as you, doesn’t mean there will be chemistry. It’s the same with influencers. Their performance stats and areas of interest only tell you there’s potential. But there’s so much more to know.
While our name is a shout-out to the notion that we’re all somehow connected with one another, we recognise that some connections are stronger than others. We aim to identify the influencers who will have a natural chemistry with your brand.
Once the initial search is over, the 6Degrees team gets to work evaluating potential matches based on criteria that software just can’t understand. We’ll evaluate the aesthetic of their content, as well as the tone of voice and overall personality they project. We’ll find out how active they are within their community—software can tell you how often they post, but not how engaged they are with fans. We’ll also dig deeper into the audience, first with an eye toward ruling out fake followers—and other fraudulent games influencers play. Once satisfied with the audience’s authenticity, we make sure there’s chemistry there, too. The perfect influencer doesn’t just have great content and personality; she’s got an audience that makes sense for your brand.
After narrowing the field even further, 6Degrees will work with you to finalise the list of influencers we’ll want to activate. With detailed reports—think of them as the influencers’ media kits—you’ll be able to see why we’re recommending and be able to have the final say on who makes it to the campaign. We’ll also direct you in ways that your company can engage with these influencers from your own social accounts, starting the process of getting them on board with your brand.
